My Little Sunshine Party

Here’s a great idea for a simple summer party, this adorable party by Katie Grace Designs would make a great outdoor birthday party or picnic. Here’s some ideas from the My Little Sunshine Party.

sunshineparty1 445x450 My Little Sunshine PartyI love these simple and elegant backdrop decorations made from round paper lanterns, they make a beautiful yet cost effective decoration.

sunshineparty2 450x300 My Little Sunshine PartyEverything about this party shouts out cute and happy! Here’s some cute three layered cupcake toppers using a large circle, a scalloped circle and for the center a small personalized circle. You can easily create this with circle punches and your favorite paper pack.

4 450x253 My Little Sunshine PartyI get giddy over the simplest things I know, but I just love this idea of using ribbon and tags to transform regular drink dispensers into something that ties in with the theme. You can use the same paper for all your party decorations to make sure it all matches.

sunshineparty3 450x441 My Little Sunshine PartyI thought these chocolate dipped pretzel rods were a pretty fantastic idea, not only are they tasty but they also decorate your table. Here’s a helpful recipe from Good Housekeeping to make these super easy treats.

Ingredients
-8 ounce(s) milk chocolate, broken into pieces
-27  (8-inch long) pretzel rods
-Flaked coconut and/or green, red, and white sprinkles (for topping)

Directions

  1. Place chocolate in microwave-safe measuring cup or mug. Heat, covered with waxed paper, in microwave on High 1 to 2 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring occasionally until smooth.
  2. Meanwhile, place each topping choice on separate sheet of waxed paper or on individual plates.
  3. Holding 1 pretzel rod at a time, dip in melted chocolate, tipping cup to cover about half of rod with chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off pretzel back into cup. Immediately sprinkle coated pretzel with choice of topping. Carefully place coated pretzel rod in pie plate or shallow bowl, leaning uncoated portion on edge.
  4. Repeat with remaining pretzels (try to keep pretzels from touching one another in pie plate), and refrigerate about 20 minutes to set coating. Store pretzels in tightly sealed container, with waxed paper between layers, at room temperature up to 1 week.

Here’s some Mygrafico sets that would work well with a sunshine theme party.

  1. How did you get the chocolate to be yellow on the pretzels?

  2. Judy Sanqunetti says:

    Liz,

You can find yellow candy melts at party supply stores & online. If you google candy melts you will find lot of places that carry them. To make them extra bright you can also add some yellow food coloring in the mix too.
