I know that neck ties are a hokey gift for dads, but for the stylishly swagged out pop why now throw a ‘tie-riffic’ Father’s Day luncheon. I found this Ties & Mustaches clip art set by Kelly Medina Studios and thought it would be perfect to create a fun some fun party decorations for this type of affair.
You can create a simple but whimsical place setting by using the cut out ties as tags for utensil wraps. I added mine to a folded napkin and placed it on top of a white ceramic plate with a coordinating plate underneath to serve a charger. To add a bit more color to the table I used sheets of 12×12 scrapbook paper as place mats.
I thought the mustaches were very cute and would look really fun attached to paper drinking straws for drink stirrers. The ties were used again as ‘neckties’ for the soda bottles.
Framed table signs are a great way to continue the theme of a party. So, I designed fun prints to add to the celebration.
On the menu, prepare a simple fare of dishes. For this bash I kept it light but manly with pulled pork sliders, summer slaw (recipe below), grilled corn ‘pops’, and a light garden pasta salad.
Bring store bought cupcakes alive with these tie & mustache toppers. You simply adhere them to Popsicle sticks and insert into the cupcake. Serve on a nice platter or cake stand for a fabulous presentation.
Send guests home with wrapped candy bars! These favors are super easy to make and look great when creatively packaged with patterned paper and neck tie printables. Follow the instructions in this video for steps on how to make your own!
The ties & mustache theme also works great for ‘Little Man’ themed showers and one year-old birthday parties or Mustache Bash celebrations for grown up affairs!
